Management and Governance

The kirk was put up for sale by the Church of Scotland in early 2025. Kenmore and District Community Council was successful in raising the funds and supporting money to purchase the kirk, pay for the first year of operations, and make necessary repairs.

While the purchase of the church was managed by the Community Council, their aim was always to form a board of trustees to take long term ownership and management of the building in consultation with the wider community.

An interim board was established to form a charitable trust Kenmore and District Trust (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation - SCO55137). On forming, the Trustees started a process to adopt a new name, Kenmore Kirk Trust, to better reflect its purpose and scope.

The Trustees have a view to, in the longer term, make the trust a members’ body where everyone can have a say in the future direction of the project.

They bring a range of knowledge and expertise, and enthusiasm to the project. The assistance and advice of others will be also sought.
