Kenmore Kirk
Our Story
For more than four hundred years, a church has been a constant in our village square, not just a part of our village but the very heart of our small community. It has been a place where people have come together to worship, celebrate and remember each other.
No longer an active church the building lives on. Our goal is to keep our historic Kenmore Kirk alive and make it a lively, versatile community space that fits the changing needs of our rural community.
With the help of a generous grant from the SSE Griffin and Calliachar Community Fund the community was able to buy our church from the Church of Scotland in May 2026.
By maintaining this important part of village life, we hope to help people feel part of the community, support local businesses and ideas, and give everyone a chance to grow culturally, socially and economically. Its importance as a place of celebration survives.
This secular space will be based on tradition but built for the future, and it will be able to pay for itself and welcome everyone, both our residents and the many visitors who make our area so lively.
We want to make sure this cherished building keeps inspiring, connecting and helping for years to come, so that our church will always be ‘Our Church’.

The kirk is owned and managed by the community. Our team of enthusiastic volunteers aims to ensure your day is magical and perfect.
